Music for Violin, Vibraphone, and Bass Clarinet contrasts rhythmically energetic music with stagnant musical meditation through its arcing form. The music opens with a repeated rhythmic phrase in flowing meters; melodies develop as the music builds and dissipates energy before reaching a spacious meditation on sustained chords. This music arrives at its own climax before returning to previous rhythmic motives and an extended crescendo to finish off the piece. Scored for the ensemble in the title, the work lasts approximately 6 minutes.
