Upcoming Performance: Rhízōma with the UT Percussion Ensemble

Rhízōma for percussion quartet will be performed on Tuesday, April 14th by the UT Percussion Group under the direction of Tom Burritt. The concert will be in Bates Recital Hall on the University of Texas at Austin campus and will start at 7:30pm. Other composers on the program include Maki Ishii, Thad Anderson, Mark Mellits, and Thom Hasenpflug.

Upcoming Concert: Master’s Composition Recital

Join me on Friday, March 27th as I present works composed during my two years at the University of Texas at Austin! Included on the program will be Rhízōma for percussion quartet (2014), Southwest Landscapes for Clarinet and Bassoon (2014), and To My Soul for baritone and chamber ensemble (2013); additionally the concert will feature three works for fixed electronic media. The recital will be held in Bates Recital Hall on UT Austin’s campus.

Recording of “Three Southwest Landscapes” posted!

A recording of Three Southwest Landscapes, as performed by Audrey Miller (clarinet) and Thomas Breadon, Jr. (bassoon), has been posted! The piece was commissioned by Audrey as part of her dissertation at Arizona State University, and it was recorded on September 27th, 2014. You can find the recording at the link above in addition to a link to a full score for perusal!

Nov. 22: Premiere of new electronic work at Electric LaTex Festival 2014

My first work for electronic media, Study in FM Synthesis, will be premiered at Electric LaTex Festival 2014 on Saturday November 22, 2014! The festival is hosted by the Center for Experimental Music and Intermedia at the University of North Texas, and features electro-acoustic and multi-media works by composers at five major universities in the states of Louisiana and Texas.  For more information, click here.
